Description
5/6/26 - This is a rare Remington UMC 1911. Of the three manufacturers of accepted U.S. Military 1911 pistols, the Remington-UMC is the least common with only ~21,000 produced. It has the proper E.E.C. inspectors marking on the left side of the frame. Major Edmond E. Chapman was responsible for the entire Rem-UMC production. Below his mark is an "Eagle Head E28" proof (faint). The barrel has an added large "P" proof visible in the ejection port. The gun has been refinished - both the slide and frame are parkerized, but the colors are slightly different. There areas of light spotty oxidation and pitting on the slide, more noticeable on the right side. Fitted with period-correct checkered wood grips and comes with a two-tone magazine. Very nice bore with great rifling.
