Description
5/8/25 - For sale is a scarce Winchester Model 1895 Musket made for the Imperial Russian Army during WW1. During the war, Russia was having trouble keeping up with the attrition rate on the battlefield and replacing the firearms that were lost in combat. They had reached out to the United States for assistance. Not many of the companies were ready to convert their existing guns to a high pressure cartridge (at the time) like the 7.62x54r except Winchester and their Model 1895. Winchester would produce 294,000 examples in the Musket configuration and would be issued with a sword bayonet.
This example is good condition overall and the finish is well worn. The metal has scratches some fine pin prickling but there is nothing deep. The stock and forestock look to have been sanded long ago and other is a chip missing where the stock meets the receiver on the right side. The receiver is missing its stripper clip guides. The bore is dark but rifling is visible when shining a light.
