Description
10/2/26 - This is a rare SA-issued Walther PP, manufactured in 1939 and marked "SA der NSDAP Gruppe Mitte" on the front strap. There were fewer than 6,000 Walther PPs marked with the SA Gruppe names they were issued to, with 37 different Gruppe names. The Sturmabteilung (SA), commonly known as the "Brownshirts," was the Nazi Party's original paramilitary organization. The gun is all matching and has retained roughly 80% of its original finish. The finish loss comes in the form of obvious splotchy discoloration and minor pitting on both sides of the slide (mostly on the right side). Fitted with period-correct black bakelite grips and comes with a period-correct Walther banner-only finger extension magazine. Excellent bore with great rifling. A scarce SA Gruppe variation that is seldom offered.
