Description
1/7/21 - This is a beautiful example of the rare Smith & Wesson Registered Magnum revolver from the 1930s. The Registered Magnum was the first production gun chambered for the .357 Magnum cartridge and served as an influence on all later large caliber double actions. Built to customer specifications and registered to the owner by Douglas Wesson himself, the approximately 5,400 Registered Magnums made between 1935 and 1939 are virtually custom made revolvers and remain "state of the art" in handgun manufacture today. This one is all matching and original, including the grips. It has about 97% of the original blue remaining, with muzzle wear on both side of the barrel, a turn line on the cylinder, a spot of wear on the edge of the butt frame, and a little area of thinning behind the trigger guard. Terrific, shiny bore. The grips show minor handling wear but no cracks. Smooth mechanics.Specifications
