2/4/26 - This is a rare Springfield 1911 from a hard to find contract. There were only about 30,000 of these made total. The gun has all of its original parts, including a Springfield barrel. All of the parts are properly marked with an "S" proof stamp including the small parts. The gun was refinished at some point and has almost no wear except for the grip straps. The part around the muzzle of the barrel seems to have been milled at some point and is in the white. The gun has the correct early Springfield grips with 11 checkers between the diamonds. It has a period-correct early magazine, but it is not of Springfield manufacture. The bore is bright with strong rifling.
