Description
8/19/26 - This is a hard-to-find Springfield contract 1911. There were only about 30,000 of these made. This one has a correct slide and frame and a proper Springfield barrel. However, the small parts are not "S" marked. It comes with a correct Springfield magazine with the fold-over metal base and brass reinforcement. The gun was made in 1915. It has been entirely refinished and parkerized. While there is very little actual finish loss, there is heavy pitting under the finish on both sides of the slide. Some thinning and brown patina on the main spring housing. Fitted with correct wood grips. Excellent bore with strong rifling.
