Description
8/6/26 - This is a hard-to-find Springfield contract 1911. There were only about 30,000 of these made and few are found in such nice condition with all original parts. All of the parts are properly marked with an "S" proof stamp including all of the small parts. It also comes with a correct Springfield magazine with the fold-over metal base and brass reinforcement. The gun was made in 1915. It has lost nearly all of its original finish. There are some areas of spotty oxidation on the left side of the slide and on the front strap. Some spotty discoloration on the top of the slide. Fitted with replaced wood grips. The bore has good rifling, but there is some pitting and light oxidation in the grooves.
