Description
5/18/22 - This is a very rarely encountered Stevens Savage Model 620 trench shotgun, made as a part of US military procurement during WWII. Unlike its M520 counterpart, this was a hammerless model, very much like Winchester M12. It was produced in trench configuration in limited numbers and is very difficult for a collector to acquire. This particular gun is a textbook example, with all the correct military markings, original finish and all original parts including the bayonet lug and heat shield. Canfield reports that fewer than 10,000 military trench examples were ordered during WW2. The gun is in very good condition with minor edge wear and patina on the receiver, and a little more wear on the bayo lug and heat shield. Terrific bore and smooth action. Receiver and barrel both have the flaming bomb proofs, and the receiver is 'U.S.' marked. Buttplate is original but does have a notable crack in it. The wood parts are in great shape with minor handling wear. Comes with a nice leather sling made by Chicago Belting Co.Specifications
