Rare, Stunning 1948 CZ Model 45

7/24/26 - This is an exceptional example of a Czech CZ Model 45 pocket pistol manufactured at the Strakonice arms factory and chambered in 6.35mm (.25 ACP). The left side of the trigger guard retains highly defined Czech rampant lion proofs alongside its corresponding two-digit year code. Derived from the pre-war CZ-36, Jan Kratochvíl's brilliant post-war optimization omitted the manual thumb safety and integrated a dedicated frame sideplate on the left side, introducing a double-action-only stirrup connector system that made it one of the most reliable and advanced pocket pistols of its generation. Lacking modern import marks, this piece represents a highly desirable pre-1968 configuration brought into the United States prior to the restrictions of the Gun Control Act.

The pistol retains nearly all of its original lustrous factory blued finish. There are just trace amounts of edge wear and a bit of finish loss at the front of the slide on both sides of the muzzle. The period-correct, wrap-around checkered dark brown bakelite grip panel fits beautifully, and is also in nearly immaculate condition, without any cracks, chips, or warping, showcasing highly distinct CZ medallions. The pistol comes fitted with a proper factory 8-round magazine. Mint bore and smooth mechanics.
