Description
3/18/26 - This is an absolutely stunning example of a rare transitional Colt 1911 that was manufactured in 1924. Fewer than 10,000 Colt 1911s were made that year, and they are known to have transitional features from the 1911 to the 1911A1. This one has a barrel that is correctly marked with intertwined HP marking. However, a couple of the small parts were replaced: it has an earlier fat front sight blade and the wrong hammer for this variation. It comes with a custom wood/glass presentation case, two magazines, and 12 vintage cartridges. The gun itself has retained nearly all of its bright blued finish with just a few very light surface scratches and a couple of small dings on the metal around the slide stop and on the left side of the trigger guard. Fitted with mint checkered wood grips. The bore has strong rifling with just very light frosting in the grooves.
