Description
3/6/26 - This is a stunning example of a rare BYF 44 Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi police force in 1944. All matching with a police "Eagle F" proof on the slide. Only about 1,500 of these guns were made. It has a dual-tone finish with a blued barrel and phosphate slide and frame. All matching and comes as a rig with two "Waffen 135" proofed Mauser magazines and a minty, un-issued example of a rare police holster (while the overall condition is minty, there is some wear on the magazine pouch). The holster is dated 1944, maker-marked A. Fischer, police eagle marked, and has a scarce two-tone finish - the front and top flap of the holster are black, and the back is tan. The gun itself has retained nearly all of its original finish with only the slightest hint of muzzle wear. Fitted with appropriate black plastic Mauser grips. The bore is like-new. De-cocker is functional. This example is listed by serial in Krutzek's P.38 book.
