Description
10/29/20 - This is a very nice example of a "test eagle" Mauser Model 1934 issued to the Nazi military in 1940. It is characterized by the "Eagle 655" Nazi military proof on the tang. This gun would have been produced just before the factory switched over to HSC production. These guns are fairly rare with an estimate of only ~8,000 procured by the army. The interesting thing about this pistol is that it was initially issued to the Nazi military and subsequently diverted to the police. This is evidenced by the Police "Eagle/L" marking on the right side of the frame. It also comes with a matching-numbered magazine that would have been numbered to match the gun at the police arsenal. The gun has retained about 92-93% of its bluing. There are areas of wear around the muzzle, on the right side of the slide, and on the top of the slide. There are also small spots on the front strap and underside of the trigger guard. There is light scratching on the underside of the frame. There are areas of freckling most noticeable near the muzzle. Comes with a period-correct grip with just a few light bruises and a matching magazine. The bore is excellent - shiny with strong rifling.Specifications
