5/18/26 - This a nice example of a rare Mauser C96 from 1905. It has a "Von Lengerke & Detmold New York" retailer marking on the left side of the frame. VL&D was a prominent New York outfitter known for selling high-end sporting arms in the early 20th century. This one is all matching and "Double Crown U" proofed. It's original finish rates about 90%. There is finish loss on both grip straps, some spotty oxidation on the front strap, general high edge wear, some small spots of wear on both sides of the frame, light spotty wear on the underside of the barrel, a few small scratches here and there, and freckling on both sides of the frame. Fitted with matching-numbered wood grips - there are flat spots on both sides around the screw hole. The bore has pretty good rifling, but there is very light pin-pricking throughout.
