Description
8/7/26 - This is a rare Walther Mod HP that originally manufactured to be sold in the commercial market in the 1940's, and then diverted for issue to the Nazi military - first delivery, one of about 3,500. It has an "Eagle 359" Nazi military acceptance proof on the right side of the slide. The upper assembly is matching to itself - slide, barrel, and locking block. The frame was originally not matching, but the original numbers have been X'd out, and it has been re-numbered on the right side to match the upper. Import mark on the underside of the barrel. The entire gun has a dark, "Russian dipped" finish. There is very little actual finish loss, but there are areas of pitting under the bluing. It is most noticeable along the barrel, but there is some on the slide. Fitted with period-correct blackish-brown phenolic grips - a few scratches on the right side. The rifling in the bore is fairly worn with noticeable oxidation and pitting in the grooves. De-cocker is functional. It comes as a rig with a reproduction magazine and a post-war, 1962-dated black leather holster. The magazine fits fairly tight inside the gun.
