Description
3/17/26 - For sale is a very rare Walther Mod. HP that was manufactured in 1940 and sold to the Swedish Military as part of a contract between the Swedish Government and Walther. According to "The P.38 Pistol" by Alexander Krutzek, this gun falls within a list of 500 guns that were delivered to Sweden on May 3rd, 1941. It was the second shipment of Mod. HP's shipped for the Swedish government. This gun is mentioned in the aforementioned book (by serial number) as part of this contract and delivery on pages 123 and 126. All matching including locking block. The gun has the proper Walther Mod. HP legend and E/N proofs. The gun retains about 92-94% of its original high polish blue finish. There is muzzle wear, general high edge wear (especially on the forward left slide), and some thinning and wear on the front strap. The wear on the slide appears as tiny micro scratches which are common for finishes like this one. The gun has original Mod. HP bakelite grips. A proper magazine for a P.38 in the second Swedish shipment would not have a serial number or Walther proof mark. The gun's magazine does not have either, and is stamped "P.38v". Bore has nice rifling but has frosting.
