Description
3/6/26 - This is a rare Walther PPK from 1937 that is marked "DRP" on the frame, denoting issue to German Post Office (Deutsche Reich Post). These pistols received a very small contract order. The Deutsche Reichspost (DRP) was Germany’s state postal and telecommunications service and played a key role in maintaining communications during World War II. Originally founded in 1876, it continued under the Third Reich as the government authority responsible for mail delivery as well as the operation of Germany’s telephone, telegraph, and radio networks. Under Postmaster General Wilhelm Ohnesorge, the DRP expanded its operations during the war, supporting both civilian and military communications across Germany and occupied territories. Many employees served in uniformed postal formations, and DRP-marked badges, documents, and equipment are commonly encountered among WWII German militaria collectibles today. This particular pistol is matching and comes as a rig with one period-correct finger extension magazine and a scarce "DRP KSSL" ink stamped holster. The gun has retained about 95-96% of its finish, but we believe the slide has been re-blued. There is just muzzle wear and a small spot of wear on the front strap. Fitted with an excellent period-correct brown grip. Excellent bore with strong rifling.
