Rare, Weimar-Era, 1920/1920 DWM Double Date Police Luger Rig

7/7/26 - This is a very nice example of a rare Weimar-Ear 1920/1920 double-date DWM Luger. The first "1920" (closest to the ejection port) indicates the date of manufacture, 1920. The second "1920" (closest to the muzzle) is a government property marking. Due to restrictions under the Treaty of Versailles, Germany was only allowed to have a certain amount of guns in military and police service. This marking indicates it was ear-marked for government service. This particular gun was issued to the German police force in 1920. It is mostly matching, but the rear toggle pin is mismatched (electro-pencil numbered later to match), and the slide is mismatched but only off by one digit. Because it was reworked, we believe it's very possible it left the police arsenal this way. There are Weimar-Era proofs on the right side of the slide and an added police sear safety. There is also a police unit marking on the front strap. It comes as a rig with a matching police arsenal-numbered magazine (with a police "Star K" proof) and a 1935-dated black leather police holster. The holster is numbered and matching to the number on the slide of the gun (again, we believe it's very possible the holster was intentionally numbered to the slide of this very gun). The gun itself has retained about 90% of its finish with just minor high edge/muzzle wear and an area of finish loss at the back of the frame where it has been ground flat. Fitted with un-numbered wood grips - the left has an imperial proof, and the right side has what looks like a "Star L" police proof. Very nice bore with good rifling.
