Description
4/1/26 - This is a rare Simson Luger issued to the German police during the Weimar Era. There were only ~12,000 Simson Lugers produced in total. Because Simson was a Jewish-owned company, it was forcibly taken over by the Nazi regime in the early 1930s as part of the broader process of Aryanization, marking the end of its role in Luger production. This one is matching, has the proper Simson proofs throughout (even on the grip screws), and has an "A.S.504." unit marking on the front strap. It comes with a period-correct but mismatched "Eagle 6" marked Simson magazine. The gun has retained somewhere between 85-90% of its original bluing. The wear is concentrated on the side plate, along side rails, and around the muzzle. Very light thinning on both grip straps with some light spotty oxidation on the front strap. Some minor wear on the left side of the barrel. Fitted with excellent wood grips - both are matching-numbered and "Eagle 6" proofed. The bore shows obvious pin-pricking throughout.
