Description
4/1/26 - This is a rare Simson Luger from the Weimar Era. There were only ~12,000 Simson Lugers produced in total. Because Simson was a Jewish-owned company, it was forcibly taken over by the Nazi regime in the early 1930s as part of the broader process of Aryanization, marking the end of its role in Luger production. This one is matching and has the proper Simson proofs throughout (even on the grip screws). It comes as a rig with a 1937-dated black leather holster and a mismatched WWI-era magazine. The holster has a script "LK" marking on the back, indicating it was manufactured by Lederwarenfabrik Kritzler K-G in Rebbelroth near Gummersbach, Bezirk (district) Köln (Cologne). There are four small holes on the back that have been filled - appears to be an old belt loop modification. The gun has retained somewhere between 85-90% of its original bluing with areas of wear around the high edges, around the muzzle, and a few small spots of wear on the grip straps. Some light scratching on the side plate and left side of the frame. Some light spotty oxidation on both sides of the frame and on the grip straps. Fitted with mint wood grips - both are matching-numbered and "Eagle 6" proofed. Minor bruising on both sides. The bore shows light pin-pricking throughout.
