Description

7/8/21 - This is an excellent example of a rare P.38. The gun was put together from parts, likely at the end of the war. It has a Zero Series Walther frame, a Walther barrel, most of the small parts are Walther-marked, and it has a Spreewerk slide. The gun has "Eagle 88" Nazi military proofs and an "Eagle Hza JC3" marking on the right side of the slide. "Hza" stands for Heereszeugamt or the Nazi Army Ordnance Office. It indicates that this gun was reworked at a Nazi Army Depot. All the parts were numbered to match at the depot. These guns are very rare. The gun has a very dark finish, and we believe it was "Russian dipped". There is almost no finish loss - just a few very light handling marks here and there with a series of tiny scratches on the front strap. Comes with excellent grips and a Walther magazine. The bore has strong rifling with spotty oxidation in the grooves. The de-cocker is functional.
