Description
4/9/26 - This is a nice example of a Red 9 Mauser C96 issued to the Imperial German military during WW1. It is all matching with a Nazi-era "Eagle su4" rework proof on the right side of the slide. There is also . We believe this one was reworked and issued to the Nazi police force, given its characteristics: the barrel has been shortened, the rear sight was milled, and there is a crossed-out police unit marking on the front strap "S.Op.I.8.61.". The gun has retained somewhere between 85-90% of its finish. There is general high edge wear, muzzle wear, an area of wear on the left side of the frame, a tiny dent on the left side of the frame, and some small handling marks here and there. Noticeable brown patina on the floor plate. Fitted with original matching-numbered "Red 9" grips. The bore shows decent rifling, but there is noticeable frosting and pitting throughout.
