Description
5/27/26 - This is an example of a WWII-era Remington 1911A1 that was originally issues to the US Military. The serial number puts the production of this 1911A1 in 1944, and bears the correct 'FJA' inspector mark for Colonel F.J. Atwood who inspected Remington and Ithaca 1911A1s. The frame is also SA marked to indicate it went through arsenal rework at Springfield. This Remington has retained roughly 75% of its original finish with most wear presenting as high-edge wear and muzzle wear. There is also some thinning underneath the trigger guard and some re-assembly scratches to the rear of the trigger on the left side of the firearm. This firearm comes with a replacement barrel, but has the correct Remington frame and slide. The bore in the barrel has a bright finish and strong rifling, though it does show signs of light use. Comes with period correct brown plastic grip panels with no signs of chips or cracks, though the right grip panel has some handling wear towards the bottom. Mechanically sound. Comes with a MecGar magazine. Firearm comes with the matching CMP hard shell case, with CMP Certificate of Authenticity, manual, slide flag, and pistol lock.
