Description
6/1/26 - This is a scarce Remington Model 1871 U.S. Army Rolling Block Pistol. Only around 6,000 of these pistols were manufactured in the 1870s and 1880s for the U.S. Army. They were inspected by Curtis R. Stickney whose initials are on the left side of the grip. The "P S" marked on the left side of the frame also stand for "Proofed" and "Stickney." The gun is in good condition for its age, showing some patina on the frame and barrel. The muzzle shows some finish loss around the opening of the bore. There is some pin pricking on the left and right side of the frame, and some pitting on the barrel, primarily towards the muzzle and front sight. The wood furniture is in great shape with no chips, but does have a couple of light cracks near the front of the under barrel furniture. There is also a linear indentation on the wood furniture below the barrel. Bore has retained some good rifling, but does show frosting and some pitting throughout. Fully functional. No FFL required.
