Description
3/10/26- For sale is a Remington made M1917 bayonet. This bayonet was produced under contract for the British as a P1913 bayonet but when the war started, British equipment still in American factories was diverted for the American troops. The blade is bright with mild patina, especially in the fuller and around the crossguard. The blade has been polished and lightly sharpened, leaving some scratching and wear on the surface of the blade but no spots of rust or blade chipping. The blade has canceled British proofs with the "US" stamp underneath, along with the Remington circle logo, the 1913 model designation, and the 9-17 date code, indicating September 1917. The wood grips have light wear but no chipping or cracking. The scabbard is black leather with painted black fittings and a gray canvas frog. Overall in very good condition.
