1/15/26 - This is a very nice example of a Remington Model 1917 rifle issued to the US military during WWI. The receiver has a really nice deep blue finish and is "U.S." property marked, has the proper "Eagle Head" US military proofs, and has a flaming bomb proof on the bolt handle. It has a replaced "R" marked Remington stock and a replaced "R" marked Remington barrel (dated June of 1918). The metal parts have retained about 90% of their blued finish with some minor discoloration and brown patina on the front barrel band and around the muzzle. A few marks on the bolt handle. Excellent wood furniture with only a few minor bruises. Comes with a canvas sling. The bore has pretty good rifling, but there is minor frosting throughout.
