Description
11/3/26 - For sale is a reproduction French military képi in the classic tall, flat-topped style. The képi has been part of the French Army uniform since the 19th century and is most closely associated with the French Foreign Legion, whose soldiers wore it in North Africa and other colonial postings, often under a khaki cover like this one to shade it from the sun. This example has a khaki body, a black patent leather visor and chin strap with brass side buttons, and a red interior band with a ruffled lining. The inside is stamped "Ets E. Cholet Marseille" and size "58". The entire piece is a reproduction. It is in mint condition, with no obvious signs of wear or use. A great display piece or reenactment cap.
