Description

9/27/19 - This is a nice example of a Roth-Steyr M1907 pistol rig, manufactured in 1909. Adopted by the Austro-Hungarian Army in 1907 and manufactured by Osterreichische Waffenfabrik-Ges in Steyr, Austria, from 1907 to 1914. The pistol functions with a locked breech, rotating barrel action. Features a double action trigger, knurled cocking piece, fixed blade and notch sights, and the second variation frame with the disconnector pin. The top of the barrel is marked "WAFFENFABRIK STEYR," and the rear of the frame is marked "W.n/eagle/9". The disc in right grip panel is marked '7GA8', denoting it was issued to the 7th Mountain Artillery and pistol #8 of the batch. Could be possible that this pistol fought in the Alps against Italy. The pistol is all original with about 92% high-polish blue remaining, showing most finish loss on either side of the slide. Bore is shiny with strong rifling, but there is a minor area of freckling. The pistol comes with what appears to be an original holster, as the fuzzy upper flap would appear in line with the fact that the pistol was issued to Mountain Artillery.
