Description
10/15/25- For sale is an RZM marked SS Honor Dagger. The Honor Dagger was a part of the mythology of the SS, connecting oaths to Adolf Hitler, personal duty, medieval ideas of knighthood, and instruments of violence into one physical symbol. Every SS soldier was issued with one of these daggers as part of their ceremonial uniform and ordered to use it to defend the honor of the SS or Adolf Hitler personally. The blade on this dagger is in very good condition, with no signs of grinding or sharpening. There is wear from going into and out of the scabbard. The etching is clear and dark. The back of the dagger has the Eickhorn squirrel, the RZM logo, a contract year of 1939, and the SS runes. The hilt is in good condition, with minimal wear to the wood. The eagle and SS are clear and intact. The top crossguard is worn, with about half the nickel plating missing. The lower crossguard appears brass/bronze, either from a complete loss of plating, severe discoloration, or a replacement with non-original part. The scabbard is the painted pattern with plated fittings. There is some wear but relatively minimal loss of paint. There is a short leather hanger strap with an RZM designation. Overall in physically very good condition, although the crossguard coloration is notable.
