Description
6/1/26 - For sale is a nice Gewehr 41 rifle made by Berlin Lubecker in 1943. The rifle is the precursor to the more famous G.43 used by the German Army. This rifle utilizes a gas trap at the muzzle to cycle the action in the rifle unlike the G.43, SVT40, or M1 grand which use a gas piston system. This system was deemed too complicated and unreliable in the dirt of the Eastern Front and was replaced by the more reliable G.43. This rifle is in an overall 87% condition with the metal retaining a nice bluing on all the parts with only minor handling and oxidation marks. The bolt carrier has a discoloration to it. Some pitting on the barrel jacket, magazine, and bolt carrier / dust cover. The stock is in equally good condition with no cracks or damage but the serial number is force matched. The rest of the stock has been sanded and the proof stamps are faint. The bore is very bright with great rifling. The rifle has matching numbers on the major components but the gas trap muzzle shows signs of being force matched and touched up with cold blue. The flapper locks of the bolt are unnumbered.
