Description
11/24/25 - Manufactured circa late 1860s with a total quantity estimated at 800. These pepperboxes were manufactured by Bacon Manufacturing Company and marketed under Continental Arms to avoid confusion with a similar pepperbox by Bacon Arms. The barrel cluster is marked "CONTINENTAL ARMS CO. NORWICH CT./PATENTED AUG. 28, 1866". The unusual design features a shield which encircles the barrel cluster, causing the illusion of the pepperbox having a cylinder at the breech. The right side of the frame has a loading gate cut-out, but without an ejector device. Iron frame and rosewood grips with square butt. The serial number is marked on the left side of the frame under the grip and on the right grip panel, 324. It has retained roughly 65% of its original finish with honest spotty wear throughout. Fitted with black hard rubber grips. Very nice bores with strong rifling. No FFL required.
