5/21/25 - For sale is a Model 1861 rifled musket made by E. Whitney Arms. The rifle is in good condition for its age. The metal has worn down to bare metal with pockets of patina and old surface oxidation. The lock plate is marked "E Whitney N. Haven". There's no date behind the hammer arm. There is also no date on the tang. There is an S stamp on the left side of the barrel at the woodline. The stock shows plenty of wear and handling marks. There is a 1" crack at the bottom tang. The bore retains some brightness and strong rifling, but there's surface oxidation throughout.
