Description
10/14/26 - In 1914, Norway began producing a licensed copy of the Colt 1911 at Kongsberg to serve as its standard military sidearm, and named it the M1914. From 1940 to 1945, the factory's output fell into German hands, and these pistols went on to serve with various German military and police branches. Unlike the later Waffen-marked variants, the earlier occupation pistols likely saw actual use during the war. This particular pistol was made in 1941 for use by the Germans and is one of only about 8,200 produced under German occupation. It is completely matching, with the 1941 date on the right side of the slide. It has retained roughly 30% of its black enamel finish with obvious finish loss throughout; most of the remaining finish is on both sides of the frame. Fitted with correct black dyed wood grips and comes with a proper lanyard loop magazine. 7/10 bore with strong rifling and frosting throughout.
