Description
3/14/26 - This is an example of a Mauser Model 1934 issued to the Kriegsmarine in about 1940. This one is categorized as a 1st variation with an "Open Wing Eagle M" Navy marking on the left side of the frame and a "N 7214" navy unit marking on the front strap. Only about 8,000 of this variation were manufactured. The gun is all matching. The gun itself has retained about 85% of its original high polish bluing. There is high edge wear and corrosion on both sides of the slide toward the muzzle. There is also an area of corrosion on the mid right slide. There is also some finish loss on the front grip strap. Fitted with a very nice period-correct one-piece wood grip - with bruising by the screw and where the grip meets the front strap on the right side. It comes with one original matching-numbered Navy magazine and one unnumbered magazine. The bore has good rifling, but there is noticeable frosting in the grooves. The gun comes with a Navy marked holster in good condition. It has an open winged Eagle M stamp under the closing strap. There leather is still pliable but certain areas of the holster show more wear than others. There is a small hole in the corner of the magazine pouch.
