Description
2/24/26 - This is an excellent example of a rare 'byf 44' code Mauser P.38 with an all-phosphate finish. Considered an "all grey finish", this complete phosphate finish was only on an estimated 2000 byf 44s (A. Krutzek, "The P.38 Pistol"). This is an all-matching P.38 with the barrel and slide matching the frame. This Mauser has retained about 96% of its original finish, with an area of discoloration on the top right side of the slide just behind the ejection port, and some high-edge wear. This firearm is fitted with period-correct black bakelite grips. The barrel is bright with mirrored rifling and some mirroring between the frosting in the channels. This P.38 comes with a period-correct 'jvd' code magazine.
