4/11/22 - This is a scarce Walther G.43 rifle from 1944. This one is all matching numbers, including receiver, bolt and stock. The serial on the stock is faint, as the stock was lightly sanded and had some lacquer applied. Interestingly, the stock was also custom modified and has a groove/depression on each side of the rifle. There is also an area milled out of the handguard. The wood is in good condition otherwise, with a few gouges on the right side but no cracks. The receiver of the rifle has excellent late-war finish but it does appear the bolt carrier was refinished. Magazine is period original and marked 'aye' with sharp waffenamt. It also has a couple of holes milled out on each side, not sure why, but it appears to function correctly. Bore has strong rifling but some frost and freckling through the grooves.
