Description
7/7/26 - This is a scarce Colt M1911A1, manufactured in 1941 with proper RS inspectors mark. There were only ~35,000 Colt 1911's produced that year, which is a very low production number for Colt 1911's in general. The RS - Robert Sears inspector proof is very rare and desirable for Colt collectors. The slide is numbered and matching to the frame. It has a period-correct but improper HS High Standard barrel. It comes as a rig with a 1917-dated tan leather Sears holster and one magazine. The gun has what we believe to be an old re-blued finish. The "United States Property" marking on the frame was previously ground and reapplied. The gun shows obvious finish loss, light pitting, and spotty oxidation throughout. Fitted with period-correct reddish plastic grips. Excellent bore with strong rifling.
