Description

6/24/22 - This is a scarce and desirable Steyr K98 from 1944 that was likely issued as part of an SS contract order. The rifle has matching numbers throughout, including the full bolt assembly, rear sight assembly, trigger assembly, barrel, handguard and stock. The finish on metal parts is original and while it doesn't show a ton of bluing loss, there is notable patina throughout. SS contract examples often don't have external markings on the stock, like this one. The stock has no structural issues but there is a small hole near the disc on the left side and a chip on the left edge under the Mod. 98 marking. The buttplate shows discoloration/patina and has slight overhang at the edges. Period sling is included. Bore is generally shiny and clean with strong rifling.
