Description
5/27/26 - This is a scarce 2nd Model Smith & Wesson Schofield that was manufactured in 1877 and U.S. military issued. Only 5,934 of these 2nd Model revolvers were ever manufactured, with only a select number of those being issued to the U.S. Army. This revolver is all-matching with the barrel, cylinder, cylinder retainer, and grip panel all serialized to the frame. The gun has been refinished with a nickel finish. The bore has decent rifling but frost and some pitting throughout. The wood grip panels are in great shape with no signs of chips or cracks. The butt of the revolver is marked with the Army Issue "U.S." stamped above the serial number. Mechanically sound with proper lock-up and timing. This firearm is an antique, and thus does not require an FFL.
