Description
6/16/26 - This is a Colt Army Special, a heavy-frame double-action revolver chambered in .38 Special, manufactured in 1916, and featuring a 6-inch barrel. This example has been fully refinished at some point in its life. It currently retains a dark, even bluing across the metal surfaces. As is typical with a reblue, signs of the surface preparation and polishing can be seen in the softened rollmarks and the Rampant Colt sideplate logo. Wear to the current finish is strictly minimal, limited primarily to a faint turn line on the cylinder and microscopic handling marks. The revolver is fitted with an excellent set of black hard rubber gutta-percha grips, but they are not original. The bore is bright with sharp rifling, but it is lightly frosted throughout. Mechanically excellent with tight lockup and perfect timing. Trigger functions very well in single or double action.
