Description
9/30/25- For sale is a 1936 Winter Olympics edelweiss pin. 1936 was the last time that the same country hosted the Summer and Winter Olympics in the same year. While the famous Summer games were in Berlin, the Winter games were held in the alpine village of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The edelewiss flower is a famous symbol of German hiking and mountaineering and lent itself to the Olympic badge. The swastika clearly symbolizes Hitler's intention to use the Olympics to support his regime. The badge is made from bronze with enameled colors. There is minor wear and patina but no serious damage. The attachment pin is functional and intact. Overall in very good condition.
