Description

7/29/25 - These binoculars are a very nice example of German U-Boat binoculars from the WWII era. These binoculars were specifically used by U-Boat crews by mounting them on the conning tower when the U-Boat was surfaced and could be easily removed for when the U-Boat resubmerged. The binoculars have most of the original factory paint still remaining and show signs of normal wear and some chipping of the paint throughout. On both the left and right are areas of wear where the paint is faded, likely from where peoples hands would go on the binoculars. The lenses are very clean and functional, and these binoculars also come with the mounting bar for the conning tower attached and an iron sight on top of the right lens which folds freely up and down. Left side is stamped "U.D.F. 7x50", "318116", and "blc" which is the  German government code for manufacturer Carl Zeiss Jena.
