Description
10/21/26 - This is an excellent WWII German Navy Leuchtpistole 34 (LP34) flare pistol chambered in 27mm. It features a 6-in barrel with a round front that transitions into an octagonal rear halfway down. Manufactured by Carl Walther in Zella-Mehlis and issued to the Kriegsmarine circa 1941-1942, this flare gun was crafted from an ultra-lightweight anodized aluminum alloy to serve as a primary signal gun across all Kriegsmarine vessels and coastal installations. The right side of the frame flat displays a crisp Waffenamt alongside a sharp Kriegsmarine 'Eagle over M' naval property mark, and the desirable 'M III/3' Wilhelmshaven naval station inspection stamp. This flare pistol is all matching, with the full serial number stamped on the left side of the frame, and last two digits on the barrel hinge lug. The aesthetics are excellent, with the flare gun retaining approximately 95-97% of its factory matte black anodized finish. There is wear along the octagonal barrel contours, with the most concentrated wear being operational rubbing/thinning at the hinge pivot, and light scattered handling marks and surface scratches. It comes fitted with excellent brown-checkered Bakelite grips, sharp checkering and no chips or cracks. Mechanics are flawless, and the lanyard loop is intact. A screw on the left side of the frame is replaced. The bore is immaculate, this flare gun looks unfired, and even the breech shows zero signs of use.
Note: This is not a firearm, and requires no licensing for purchase.
