Description
9/23/26- For sale is a German M16 helmet. The M16 was the first variant of the iconic German Stahlhelm and saw the first major deployment at Verdun in 1916. The helmet exterior has brownish paint and surface wear but no evidence of rust or serious damage. The leather interior liner is present, including all three upper head pads and the chinstrap. The leather is aged and worn but mostly intact, a feature that is very rare for over 110 years of age! The helmet interior also appears painted the same brownish color as the exterior. The helmet rim is stamped "W66". There are also a few handwritten words around the back, likely the owner's name and unit. Overall in very good condition.
