SOLD - German MP 44 - Semi-Automatic

8/20/25 - SEE NOTE AT THE END OF THE LISTING.  This is a rare Nazi MP 44 modified to semi-automatic after the war. This MP44 is a rebuilt, mostly original parts kit. It is made to ATF specs as a semi auto rifle and is serialized. The receiver is a 1945 mfg. It has WW2 parts but mismatched numbers throughout. The finish is generally very good, with minor areas of wear on the left side of the receiver. The bore has strong rifling but some frost throughout, and a little freckling toward the muzzle end. The listing includes just the one magazine. Receiver is proofed 'cos' and has several waffenamts, including a Steyr E/623 proof. Wood furniture appears to be period original and has only minor handling wear.

NOTE:  THIS BUILD WAS DONE INCORRECTLY AND THE RIFLE IS NOT PROPERLY HEADSPACED.  AS A RESULT, THIS FIREARM IS CURRENTLY NOT SAFE TO SHOOT.  THIS BUILDER DID NOT PROPERLY REBUILD THE FRONT TRUNNION, THEY ONLY WELDED THE CUT PIECES AND THIS CAN LEAD TO TOO MUCH STRESS ON PRESSURE BEARING PARTS.  IT APPEARS THIS BUILD USES A NEW-MANUFACTURE BARREL, WHICH COULD ACCOUNT FOR THE HEADSPACING ISSUES AS THESE ARE KNOWN TO HAVE THEIR CHAMBERS CUT INCORRECTLY.  CURRENTLY, THIS RIFLE IS A PROJECT AT A MINIMUM, AND JUST A DISPLAY PIECE AT WORST.  DUE TO THESE ISSUES, THIS RIFLE WILL BE SOLD AS IS, AND THE BUYER SHOULD NOT HAVE EXPECTATION THAT REPAIRS/MODIFICATIONS WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEM FOR CERTAIN.
