Description
7/29/25 - The Harrington & Richardson (H&R) Sportster Model 250 is a bolt-action rifle chambered in .22 Long Rifle, manufactured between 1948 and 1950. It was designed as an affordable, reliable, and accurate rimfire rifle for small game hunting, target shooting, and youth marksmanship training in post–World War II America. The Model 250 featured a bolt-action mechanism with a detachable magazine. It has a walnut or hardwood stock, a 24-inch barrel, and open iron sights. True to H&R’s reputation, the rifle was solidly built, emphasizing function over flair. This model was part of H&R's effort to expand into the civilian sporting market during the economic boom following World War II. Produced for only a few short years, the Model 250 is relatively scarce today and is appreciated by collectors for its classic styling, smooth action, and as a snapshot of mid-century American firearms manufacturing. The bluing on this one rates roughly 75% with an area of noticeable finish loss and some pitting along the barrel. Excellent wood furniture with no major damage. Excellent bore with great rifling. Comes with a spare magazine.
