Description
5/26/26 - This is an ANIB example of a commercial Beretta M9, chambered in 9mm. The Beretta M9 cemented its legacy by winning the rigorous Joint Service Small Arms Program (JSSAP) and subsequent XM9 trials in the 1980s, officially replacing the venerable M1911A1 as the standard-issue sidearm of the United States Armed Forces. The Beretta proved its exceptional durability by surviving extreme environmental endurance tests, including severe mud, extreme heat, and salt water exposure, ultimately defeating all comers with the notable exception of the SIG Sauer P226, who Beretta edged out in the finals on the basis of a lower total package cost to the military. This example features the proper military-style nomenclature, with the left side of the slide marked "U.S. 9mm M9 - BERETTA U.S.A. - 65490" and the right side bearing the correct military assembly codes. This is because this example is commemorating the 20 year anniversary of service in America's armed forces.
The pistol remains in pristine condition, retaining all of its original matte black finish. There are no visible signs of thinning or handling wear. The factory checkered plastic grips with Beretta "PB" medallions are immaculate and free of any handling stress. Stone mint bore. Elevating this lot for the collector is the inclusion of its complete factory package: the original blue plastic hard case, the outer cardboard sleeve retaining its factory matching serial number label (M9-129797), five proper 15-round magazines marked "PB CAL 9 Para Made in Italy", the original owner's manual, extra set of grips, and a factory cable lock.
