Description

8/12/25 - This is an example of an early production German K98 bayonet and scabbard made in 1938 produced by Durkopp. The handle of the bayonet is in good shape showing some wear on metal parts. The spine and crossguard of the handle shows the most wear. The left grip has a small chip in it, but otherwise the grips are in good shape. The blued finish on the blade shows wear, especially at the point of the blade. The blade is marked "DURKOPP" and has the serial number stamped into the other side. The number "38" is stamped onto the spine of the blade. The scabbard has some thinning to its finish and is marked with "DURKOPP 38" stamped as well as the serial number which matches the bayonet.
