SOLD - Rare Armalite AR7 Bayonet Prototype

Description

6/12/25 - This is a rare prototype M7 bayonet made by Colt Armalite for the M16/AR15 rifles. The right side of the blade on this bayonet is marked "COLT’S-62082 ARMALITE HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A. PATENTS PENDING”. The marking also has the trademark Rampant Colt logo. The blade on this bayonet shows some finish loss around the edge of the blade and the high points where the blade and scabbard would meet. The blade shows no signs of resharpening. The M4 style latch at the back of the bayonet is still functional and the springs are strong. The scabbard for this bayonet is marked “U.S. M8 B.M.CO” The scabbard shows a crack on its left side.
