Description
2/24/26 - This is a rare, first variation example of a Walther P.38 from 1941, including the original matching magazine. Walther produced 24,800 of this variation in the serial range 1-4800b. These are known for being the last variation to have an 'ac' mark on the trigger guard. They also had all their small parts waffen marked, including grips, as this example properly demonstrates. All matching and serialized the frame, slide, barrel, locking block, and magazine. The bluing rates at around 85-90%, with high edge wear and scuffing throughout the left side of the slide, and scratchy wear and thinning throughout the right side of the slide. Wear around the muzzle and some spots of finish loss on top of the slide. A few scattered dots on the front strap, and a couple dings on the tang. Minty bore. Fitted with an excellent set of grips, with minor handling marks. The included original magazine is in great condition. Functional de-cocker.
