Description
8/13/25 - For sale is a Sharps Model 1859 Saddle Ring Carbine made during the US Civil War. The carbine is still percussion-fired and was not converted to a rimfire/centerfire cartridge. The metal has an aged grey and patina finish throughout with some dings and nicks on the surface. The stock and forend show their age with plenty of handling marks. Both show signs of being sanded in the past, and the stock has 2 cracks on each side of the toe, and a 1/2 inch crack from the back of bottom tang. There's a filled-in crack behind the lock plate about 1/4" in length. The bore shows strong rifling but there is visible pitting throughout the bore. The action functions properly.
